Agree - that's the way I learned to know The Silver Mountain almost 3 years ago and Kevelam more recently

As the Google adSense advertisements are country/location based, and I can set for advertisement category, the ads might be relevant. Good to know it can work positively! So far the poll does not show as "reject the idea".

It wouldn't really bother me. Probably just ignore them and might even click on them once in a while. Not because I'm interested but to increase the hit count;-)

Anyway I appreciate you posting a poll about this and not just adding adds by surprise.

The audience shouldn't be scared away by useless ads with Viagra and stuff. Then you have a forum with nice ads, but no visitors - defeats the purpose, right? So it actually makes sense to ask the target audience first. So far, I am actually a bit surprised to see the results, as I would have expected a clear "no adds". Having said that, there is an actual difference in saying "I will be ok", and finally perceiving the results, which might turn out "not ok". So possibly if adds are to be added, then it will have to run for a couple of weeks with a few volunteers first, before making it applicable to all users.

Probably we're not used to an Admin, discussing options. We're more used to the sentence, "if it doesn't feel fine, leave!".
