Low volatility is past perfect

Three main subjects in this article:
  • some explanations on historic stock market volatility and how it is derived,
  • an overview of rallies and swoons both in the 21st and the 20th century and
  • finally a discussion on the trend of volatility since the start of the 21st century.
A very long uninterrupted data series is the Dow Jones Industrial, with publicly available data on Yahoo since Oct 1928. Therefore that series is used for the analysis.

Technisch zitten we weer negatief blijkbaar.

Gold Price Will Do a Moonshot in 2021 With a Checkmate for the Federal Reserve
Lawrence Lepard interviewed by Daniela Cambone - Stansberry Research

The increase in the U.S. money supply has gone up more in the past two weeks than in the weeks leading up to the start of the pandemic in March, so what is going on behind the scenes at the Fed? Lawrence Lepard of Equity Management Associates forecasts a continuance of monetary debasement, contending that “when people realize their capital is getting destroyed in the dollar, gold is going to do a moonshot.”

As part of the Outlook 2021 series, “Finding Equilibrium,” Daniela Cambone conducts an in-depth interview examining Lepard’s claim that the gold price will move much higher. So how much gold, silver, bitcoin, and mining stocks should you have in your portfolio? Lepard breaks down how investors should allocate assets to gear up for 2021.
