We gaan zien .......grtz. Indy

I'm sorry I cant see the problems you offer here.

Yes I agree governments spend too much money, and yes I agree a high gold price won't solve this problem. But that's got nothing to do with freegold. When freegold is implemented as a new phase in monetary history it will be a compromise between hard money and easy money advocates. When governments want to keep spending more than possible and it will have as a consequence that the money supply will change, so will the price of gold in that currency change.

So the debtors still can go on with their habits, as will the savers. The great contradiction to the system we are now dealing with is that the savers won't be sacrificed for the sake of the debtors. A free floating gold price will eventually force austerity to governments, as the people can choose where to put their confidence.

You're advocating a system, partially based on hard money thinkings, but with authority to the "markets". And as we all now ( I hope), this markets aren't that free as they should be.......should that change in your scenario? I personally find it hard to believe....

Exactly! Now look at what's the case as we speak.....most gold isn't held by the public sector, it's held by the people. So what you say as an requirement already is in progress. Notice that the ECB has less and less gold, though the value of the gold combined keeps rising.

Furthermore I like to point out that the way freegold function's starts with the central banks balance marking it's gold holdings to market. Now as we see all around us, more and more central banks are doing this. I see this as a sign that they are with the concept developing before our eyes. That's what counts for us shrimps, go with the flow.

I can't find any proof of Armstrongs THEORY, but I must admit this can also be due to the fact it simply doesn't make sense to me....
