As long as price is above 1196-1242 the medium term remains bullish. The dual yellow line just under the averages is true support and we would have to break below those trend lines in order to go back to a medium term bearish outlook on gold. On the upside, we need a monthly close above the upper yellow line of resistance at the 1372-1388 area. It has now been 6 weeks since the bull/bear battle of the line began. So for the bears have been able to hold it-- But for how long?

Taking the 2011 downtrend line out would be a statement.

The 2014 high is 1388 and there is resistance at -1422-1438 is we get above 1388. Clearing the 2011 yellow downtrend line would be huge and the rally has gone as far as it can without leaving the bear market channel. Now we find out who’s in charge still. Trend remains up BUT CAUTIOUS HERE. If there’s to be a medium term correction, this is where the bears must try to regain control and so far they have done so these past few weeks. If the bulls get above the 2011 downtrend line they will have control. The most non arbitrary indicator that exists is the 2011 DOWNTREND LINE. If gold is above all downtrend lines, then gold can’t be in a bear MARKET. Do you see the triple green uptrend line just above the 2011 downtrend line. That’s the momentum line from the 2005 breakout. Once gold is back above that line, it will be in high gear. In summary, until we get above the 2011 downtrend line, a summer pullback potential is in play. With that said, watch 1388. If we move above it, another good move up could develop to the triple green line. Until then, we should favor a medium term pullback as those are the odds.

ODDS FAVOR a 100 dollar move in GOLD is going to happen at some point in the next 30 days.

Ik mis een lijntje "the bubble line"
Die loopt vanaf de low in 1999, over de connectie punten in 2003; 2004 en 2005 schuin omhoog en
is deze zomer door de $900 verder naar boven gelopen.
Je kunt zien dat de 'break out' uit de berenmarkt inderdaad in 2005 heeft plaatsgevonden, zoals ook in jouw artikeltje wordt opgemerkt.
In dat jaar is de 'bubble line' doorbroken en kwam goud in een stierenmarkt.
Zelfs tijdens de grote correctie nav het Lehman default in 2008, is goud toch nog een stierenmarkt gebleven.
Omdat het gele metaal nabij de bubble line kwam, ontstond er toen een sling shot.

Zolang goud niet naar beneden door deze lijn breekt, blijft het per saldo een bull market
Een 'sling-shot' zou dan ook niet meer onder de $900 uit mogen komen, anders gaat goud in een berenmarkt.
Maarrrr .... een bijna touch down (zoals in 2008), zou heel wat bulls uit de markt jagen en potentie geven voor een hele krachtige
leg up, die flink hoog kan gaan omdat goud van veel hoger is gekomen dan in 2008 .... ik denk zelfs tot aan +/- $3600/troy ounce
Zonder die sling shot, is imho $2600/$2700 de top van de volgende leg-up.
Dat is dan ook de lijn waarop @leo3.14 veel weerstand ziet liggen .... maar met een sling-shot, gaat die lijn het zeker begeven.

We zitten thans dus NIET in een berenmarkt, maar in een correctiefase van de stierenmarkt
(ging niet in één grafiekje, dus 2 ->: één vanaf 1999 en de andere t/m heden)

A teaching moment on the nature of the gold cult

I wanted to share the following chart with the readers because this is perhaps one of the clearest examples that you will see of
what I call, “selective outrage” on the part of those whom I have dubbed “the gold cult”.

By “the gold cult” I am referring to those websites and gold promoters whose view of gold is that it must always go higher in
price and when it does not, it is because there are “sinister, evil powers” at work who are “manipulating its price” and preventing
it from rising.

Just this week, we watched gold experience a sharp selloff on Wednesday. Almost immediately, the gold
cult websites (Zerohedge is their leader) were out with their breathless denunciations about “sellers smashing the gold
price by dumping huge amounts of gold within minutes”. They went on to say that “No seller attempting to maximize their profits
would sell in this fashion so clearly it was a takedown attempt on the metal by its foes”.

Note well – the complaints were all about the HUGE VOLUME involved in the selloff and that was pointed to as the proof that
this was a blatant takedown attempt.

Check out this chart with that in mind.



Notice the massive volume surge involved in today’s “Yellen induced rally”. It absolutely DWARFS the volume during
the down move on Wednesday.

How much would anyone be willing to wager that we will not hear one single complaint about this – “No BUYER, attempting
to obtain the best possible price for the metal would be so foolish as to buy in such size that they force the price higher, running
all the upside buy stops and guaranteeing that they will have to pay higher prices. This was an obvious and
blatant manipulation effort to mark up the price of gold by these evil, nefarious forces”

Beste is altijd maar om gewoon je emoties weg te steken en zo clean mogelijk naar de markt te blijven kijken.
Dan Norcini (toch iemand die goud graag omhoog ziet gaan) ... blijft ALTIJD clean rapporteren, blijft in zijn
hart een goldbug, maar vervloekt al jaren lang de diehart goldcult websites

Iedereen kan proberen, om markten met praatjes omhoog of omlaag te krijgen, de zg verbale manipulatie.
Maar technisch kun je markten ALLEEN MAAR omhoog manipuleren ..... NIET omlaag (heb ik hier al eens uitgelegd)

Ik probeerde die een aantal keer op het andere forum uit te leggen, maar geen kat die er wat van snapte, waardoor ik officieel gek verklaard ben aldaar door de horde fundamentalisten.
Nu blijkt dat jij ze ook 'leest' en zelfs weet waar ik op doel....
Zeer intrigerend.
Om mijn kaarten op een publiek forum bloot te geven heb ik geen zin, msschn motten we ooit es samenzitten.

en NEEN ik heb ze nergens gelezen of gezien, maar trek kennelijk dezelfde lijntjes .... 'so what about' my bubble line -> zie je daar wat in ?
